The Mido FB Case Chrono

There is something very charming about the 1940s steel chronographs that were housed in waterproof cases. One of the most highly regarded case makers was Francois Borgel (FB) who made cases for Patek Philippe amongst others. This Mido is housed in an FB case and shares some attributes with the iconic Patek Philippe ‘Tasti Tondi’ case, most notably the sunburst chronograph pushers.

The exmaple we have used here is a Multi-Centerchrono, a watch with painted radium numerals and radium luminous in the hands. the two-tone dial features three scales and the 35mm case wears a lot bigger than you would imagine on the wrist, largely due to the depth of the waterproof case. Naturally, this watch works beautifully on just about any buckle strap, but it can also rock on a leather nato-style strap too. However you want to wear this cool 40s chrono, we have a cool range of 18mm straps to suit your mood.
