The Inside Story
For a number of years now, the automatic watches, the Daytona Perpetual, has been a serious area of collecting with collectors and scholars researching the different models and variations. There are now eight different versions of the 16520 dial and we have an example of a Mk5 dial in white on offer today.
The case is in great condition with strong lugs. The Mk5 dial is flawless and has tritium lume and the ‘6’ in the hours register, on the bottom sub dial, is the correct way up.
The splash of red for DAYTONA completes this iconic watch.
The original punched papers are present that state a sale in 1997 in Italy.
The original solid link Oyster bracelet, ref 78790, is in great condition with a clasp stamped ‘U 11’ and 503 endlinks.
The watch has been fully checked and regulated by our watchmaker.
