Rolex Datejust 1611 Yellow Gold Morellis Finish Diamond Dial

A very special vintage DJ…

We have had many very cool and rare Datejusts pass through our hands over the years, but this may be one of the rarest and most unusual we have ever seen and will appeal to the connoisseur collector of special vintage Rolex.

The most striking element is the Morellis or Florentine finish on the bezel and the centre links of the bracelet, a feature that Rolex did in very small numbers.
If this wasn’t special enough, the watch also comes with its original matching bracelet, which is very unusual as many either wore out or were swapped over the years.
The second very rare element of this watch is the soleil champagne colour dial with diamond hours and applied stick markers at 6 and 9, a very unusual feature that adds great symmetry with the applied coronet at 12 and the date at three !

We can not recall we have seen this dial EVER. The watch case is in fantastic condition with good even lugs. This amazing Datejust comes on a yellow gold Jubilee bracelet, reference 8552 with a clasp stamped ‘N 11’ and solid endlinks stamped ’53’, with Morellis finishing on the centre links. The bracelet has a non-concealed clasp and fits wrists up to 18.5 cm This wonderful DJ has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
