It’s time for transition
In the early 1980s Rolex began using more robust sapphire crystals on their watches. Known as ‘transitional’ models, early example were fitted with matte dials – a lot like the dials in the plastic glass watches that had preceded them. This transitional Seadweller is fitted with its original flawless Mk1 matte dial (many were replaced at service with glossy dials !) with a creamy patina on the hour plots that are a good match with the hand lume. The bezel inlay is particularly cool, having an amber coloured tritium pearl. The case is nice & the solid link Oyster bracelet reference 93160 is in very good condition and has a clasp stamped ‘H’, fitted with solid endlinks reference 592. This ‘triple six’ comes with a Rolex service card from February 2019, inner and outer boxes, booklets, diver extension link, calendar, wallet and the all-important reference 2100 adjustment tool! The watch has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
